Down the waterfall

Down the waterfall

I recently agreed to repair someone’s iphone SE the phone’s screen was severely cracked, and it all seemed like a ‘straight forward’ repair. Usually I’m quite hesitant to repair someone’s phone when my social relation isn’t close, but in this case I went for it. After replacing the screen, it turned out the screen I bought on Aliexpress (to keep the price low) was faulty. I ended up buying another replacement screen, which worked. I thought all was well, but in the process of transplanting the home button, I must have damaged some connection … causing the home button to stop working at all. At that point I was struggling with how far I should take ‘responsiblity’ in this repair. I could spend another 5 euro and replace the home button (and hope for the best, knowing the touchID wouldn’t work anymore and not being entirely sure it would work) … or I could return the phone with a working screen and advising the person to use a software home button. I chose the former :/
