Save the date: conference on July 6

On July 6, in the context of our research project, we will host a one-day conference about digital repair cultures at HEAD – Genève (Building D, James Fazy 15, Geneva, Room R10). The “Artisanal Electronics: Digital Repair Cultures” event will offer a unique platform for the interdisciplinary discussion of repair, reuse and maintenance cultures. Renowned experts from design research, anthropology, sociology, the art, cultural and media studies as well as the field of human-computer interaction will come together to reconsider the role of repair practices in contemporary digital cultures.

With Bruce Sterling, Jasmina Tešanović, Jérôme Denis, Laurence Allard, Clément Renaud, Maria Roszkowska, Yvan Schulz, Marie Goyon, Hervé Munz, Benjamin Gaulon as well as Anaïs Bloch and Nicolas Nova.

The conference is organized by the members of the SNSF-funded research project “Mobile Repair Cultures” (De la reparation informelle à l’innovation silencieuse, le cas des smartphones”) led by Prof. Nicolas Nova.
